Tiger Cubs

Here are 4 of the boys in Christopher's Tiger Cub den. This was taken back in May on base. 

Racing at the lake

A bit blurry, but here is Christopher and Kennady racing the go-karts at the lake. We did this after mini-golf. 

Mini-golf by the lake

Christopher got to play mini-golf with his cousins while we were in Yankton, SD. Pictured is Josh, Uncle Shawn in orange, Grandpa, Christopher, Uncle Todd in black, Kennady, Jordan, and Aunt Traci. 

Czech Days Tabor SD

We went to the parade Friday afternoon. Christopher had so much candy, that torwards the end of the parade, candy would be thrown at his feet and he couldn't even be bothered to pick it up. 

Baseball time

This year Christopher played on a coach pitch team for kids 7 - 9 years old. We actually had a nice season, only froze a couple of times this year. The last game of the year Sheila even got a sunburn. 

Wal-Mart

We managed to find a Wal-Mart in Germany. We stopped for a quick visit to get our fix in before we went to the states in June. 

Feeding the elephants

F In May, we went to Denmark and northern Germany. While in Germany, we went to the zoo, Tierpark Hagenbeck. We bought a bag of fruits and veges and got to feed the elephants. 

Big smiles from the luge riders

This was taken on Saturday, May 20, the 3rd luge ride we went to before we had to head to Munich to catch our flight. This luge ride was near Neuschwanstein Castle.

After he got brave enough to go on his own, he didn't want to quit. He's hoping to find luge rides when we go to Colorado this summer.

Christopher has decided that he loves the luge ride, we stopped at 3 diferent ones and he probably went down 20 times altogether. 

Near Eagles Nest in Germany

We weren't able to go to the Eagles Nest but this was close by. We stopped to let Christopher do the luge ride. 

Juhnke family Germany trip

This picture was take on our first day in the town square of Rothenburg, Germany. Here's the gang that Tom guided around Germany for a week: Gene & Gloria (Juhnke) VanAckeran, Arnie & Linda Juhnke, Don and Irene (Juhnke) Reeb. A good time was had by all.

Plansee - lake near Garmisch, Germany

Utah Beach Normandy

Arnie and Christopher pose and one of the spots the allied liberation of Europe began on June 6, 1944. We took our Camry across the English Channel on a car ferry and toured around Northern France the first week in April.

Omaha Beach

Tom, Christopher and Linda look over the landscape of Omaha Beach where so many made the ultimate sacrifice. 

Disneyland Paris

Christopher and Sheila by the castle at Disneyland Paris. We made the short drive from Paris and had a great time. During our visit, it was hard to tell we were outside of the U.S

PARIS

We detoured to Paris for three days after our visit to Normandy. The weather cooperated and we made it to the top of the Eiffel Tower on the third day. 

Famous Church

Pictured above is Mont St. Michael. The church is actually located on an island that juts into the Atlantic Ocean along the north coast of France. 

American Cemetery

Christopher and Arnie reflect on D-Day. We toured the American Cemetery overlooking Omaha beach in Normandy France.
