tally up an estimated total of what it'd cost me to travel during the non popular time to travel to see you guys --- and naturally i'd be staying with you :) than finding a hotel someplace right? am curious how much i need to save in the next year for a trip to europe. am curious....
airfare for March - May or september to november (the best economical times to come) $500 - 600 from Omaha. Could be less, you can watch with these sites (http://www.airlineconsolidator.com/, http://www.airfarestore.com/, http://www.qixo.com/index.html?QIXO_Session=cf3bb2a5c3ae8d98fa66f16b7184b039, or Expedia and travelocity). You would be staying with us. You can ride the train into London for $30 Roundtrip each day you wanted to go, that price includes an all day tube and bus pass and you can get everywhere you need to with that. If you ate out it would be about $12 for lunch at a pub or $10 at McDonalds. Starbucks is $5 for a grande latte. For supper it would be the same price if you ate at a pub, and I haven't had supper at a real place since getting here so I can't advise on that. Castles are about 8 pounds or $14 to get in. For a week trip I would figure with airfare on getting by with $1000 but you could do it for less if you packed a lunch (which you could do) or you could splurge and probably not spend more that $1200. Small price to pay when it gives you memories for a lifetime maybe. Shows in London are $50 off peak, most museums in London are free. They have a hop on hop off bus pass that circles all the sites for $28 per day that is a good deal for your first day. Buy or get from the yankton library a Rick Steve's London or UK book to read up on it. We have all his books and use it like the bible for our travels.
ok thanks. will take this into consideration :)
